President

Steven Ngo (he/him) works as counsel for Rivian, a California-based electric vehicle company. Outside of law, Steven engages in various creative ventures, which include hosting a podcast on modern fatherhood and learning multiple languages. 

Vice-President External

Mark Iyengar (he/him) is a criminal lawyer at Peck and Company Barristers. He drinks coffee and wine, but not at the same time.

Vice-President Internal

Jim Wu (he/him) is a lawyer at Forte Workplace Law. When he is not putting out fires for issues arising from hiring and firing and everything in between, he divides his time cooking, singing karaoke and having a good workout on the Brazilian jiu-jitsu mats.

Vice-President Marketing

Fiona Wong (she/her) is an employment lawyer at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP. When she is not working or volunteering for FACL, she enjoys trying new restaurants, planning her next trip, and reminiscing about her past days as a flight attendant.

Treasurer

Kayla Siu (she/her) is an associate in the Asia Pacific Group at Lawson Lundell LLP. In her free time, you can find her out exploring the food scene that Vancouver has to offer or trying out her hand at cooking a few dishes herself.

Advisory Director

Hasan Alam (he/him) is a Staff Lawyer at the B.C. General Employees’ Union. In his free time, Hasan enjoys hosting friends and trying out new recipes, spending time with his family, and appreciating the beautiful territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh nations upon which he is a guest.

Secretary

Lily Zhang (she/her) is a litigation associate at Owen Bird Law Corporation. She is a Formula 1 race fan.

Gala Chair

Paige Mueller (she/her) graduated from TRU as the recipient of the Law Society of British Columbia Gold Medal. She will be practicing at Fasken with a focus on commercial litigation and arbitration. Paige enjoys exploring new restaurants, cultivating her culinary skills, and cheering for the Seahawks.

Director-at-Large

Charlene Tsai (she/her) graduated from the Peter A. Allard School of Law and is currently a lawyer at Connect Family Law. A fun fact about Charlene is that she has the cutest dog (a white and fluffy bichon frise).

David How (he/him) graduated from McGill University’s Joint BCL/JD Program and is currently an Articling Student at Cassels. There are two kinds of people in the world: Those who eat to live and those who live to eat. David is firmly in the latter category.

Holly Wong (she/her) worked in Calgary before moving to Vancouver to join the EHG Group at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP.  Holly also serves as a director of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, Western Chapter and the Mavis McMullen Housing Society.

Jennine Punzalan (she/her) is beginning her litigation practice as an associate at Bennett Jones LLP after a clerkship at the Federal Court. She has an affinity for musical theatre, Scandinavian design, and cats.

Jenny Huang (she/her) is an associate at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. She has a) scaled a cliff in Iceland; b) auditioned for the Great Canadian Baking Show and c) appeared in a popular superhero TV series. Plot twist—one of the above is a lie. Join one of Jenny’s monthly “Write On” journaling sessions for the truth.

Jessica Chung (she/her) is an associate in the Real Estate Group at Lawson Lundell LLP. She loves all things matcha, and has a secret recipe for baking the perfect matcha lava cake.

Sandy Lun (she/her) is a litigation associate at Farris LLP in Vancouver where she maintains a general civil litigation practice. On a fun and personal note, Sandy’s favourite travel experience was camping in the Morocco desert and stargazing in the desert night.

Sebastian Chern (he/him) is an associate at Howard Employment Law, where he assists both employers and employees with workplace-related matters. Sebastian is proudly Taiwanese and is always on the hunt for the best beef noodle soup in Vancouver (he still strongly believes his mom's recipe is the best).

Area Representative - Kamloops

Hardeep Chahal has practiced in Kamloops for 20 years and teaches Business Law and Business Ethics at Thompson Rivers University. He recently received his Masters of Law in Business from Osgoode Hall. He enjoys spending time with his family in the great outdoors.

Area Representative - Victoria

Sarah Reid (she/her) is a lawyer at Velletta, Pedersen, Christie Lawyers. Sarah’s practice areas include immigration, refugee, employment and civil litigation. In her free time, she likes playing board games with friends and family. 

Student Director - UBC

Catherine Wong (she/her) is a third year student at the Peter A. Allard School of Law. A fun fact about Catherine: she loves rabbits and owns a Holland Lop named Hershey.

Student Director - UVic

Janice Jia Fujikawa (she/her) is a second year law student at the University of Victoria, Faculty of Law. In her free time, Janice enjoys alpine skiing and coding. 

Student Director - TRU 

Talia Gukert (she/her) is a second year law student at Thompson Rivers University. A fun fact about Talia is that she loves going on long walks in the rain with her dog (who also happens to be named Rain!).

Felicia Sit (she/her) is a second year law student at the Peter A. Allard School of Law. She enjoys reading, attending 2000s-themed spin classes, and experimenting in the kitchen (cue explosive kombucha).
