According to the Law Society of British Columbia’s 2023 statistics, 20.5% of the province’s legal profession self-identifies as visible minorities, persons of colour, or racialized. However, a disproportionately small number of these individuals reach the partnership level in law firms. To date, there is a lack of comprehensive studies in Canada analyzing this disparity.

Sponsored by Borden Ladner Gervais LLP for the second year, we are proud to host the Annual Partners’ Reception, which is the first of its kind in British Columbia to offer partners of Asian descent (and allies) the opportunity to network and build professional relationships with each other. Open exclusively to partners or shareholders from firms of different sizes, the purpose of the reception is to generate client referrals between law firms at the partnership level, foster professional relationships within the partnership peer group, and alternatively, identify potential future mentors for our FACL BC membership.

This event is by invite only, and registration is complimentary. The Annual Partners' Reception is reserved exclusively for current partners, shareholders, and managing partners at any law firm, or those promoted to these positions as of January 2025. Space is limited so we invite you to RSVP early. If you are interested in attending, are a partner, shareholder, or managing partner, and have not received an invite, please contact info@faclbc.ca.

Please join us for an evening with complimentary canapés and wine at Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel in the Point Grey Room from 6:00PM to 10:00PM.

Final Notes:

While this event is complimentary, we kindly request that you inform us of any changes to your RSVP as a courtesy to our sponsor and other potential attendees. Timely notification of any changes ensures efficient planning and helps us maintain the quality of our events. Please note that unexplained absences or repeated no-shows to FACL BC events may affect your ability to attend future complimentary events.
