Interested in contributing your skills and experience to the public good? Join this virtual session to learn about opportunities to serve on public sector boards in British Columbia. Hosted by the Crown Agencies and Board Resourcing Office (CABRO), this session will introduce FACL BC members to the role of public boards, the appointment process, and how to apply. CABRO supports more than 220 public sector organizations, including regulatory bodies, health authorities, post-secondary institutions, and advisory councils. Board members play a vital role in providing strategic oversight, ensuring transparency, and upholding the public interest.

Participants will learn:

  • What it means to serve on a public board – and the different kinds of organizations there are
  • How to browse and apply for board opportunities 
  • How to prepare a strong application and tailor your resume for success 
  • What to expect during the selection and appointment process
